Carter Mountain | Charlottesville, Virginia
I tell ya Carter Mountain never disappoints! We drove up Friday so on Saturday we could actually enjoy the day. Rachel, Luke and their cousin Max had a blast picking apples and naturally eating some along the way! woops! At first they picked some that had already fallen and then eventually picked ones from every limb close and ones super high. We didn’t have an apple picking stick (I think that’s what their called—-hahaha) so for the most part Eric had to pick up the kids and me! Our favorite are the fuji apples and surprisingly they were sweet despite them not being quite ready yet. After $20 of apples later we enjoyed watching the kids play and roll down the hills, eat some ice cream and their infamous apple cider donuts! Oh and we got lucky too because a local turkey farm gave away turkey sandwiches. SO yummy! SO good! If we only we lived close I would have ordered one from them. Besides the apples and all the delicious food, I enjoyed watching my kids have the best time rolling down the hill, the view and the fall atmosphere Carter Mountain brings. If you have never been and is thinking about it I recommend to go! I can’t wait to back next year!
